The Sparrow is your go-to waxed canvas artist pencil roll when inspiration strikes in the wild, on the road, or at your favourite corner café. Built for illustrators, sketchers, and makers who thrive outside the studio, this artist roll keeps your tools organised, protected, and ready for anything.
With thirteen narrow compartments, there's plenty of room for your favourite pencils, markers, or brushes. Some sections are wide enough to hold more than one.
The two open pockets above are designed to fit an A5 notebook/sketchbook and a small A6 (9x16 cm) notebook. Additionally, we added two roomy outside pockets to give you a convenient space for loose papers, postcards, or other essentials.
Because of a long flap inside, your tools will stay in place and protected, no matter how much you fill the pencil roll. We added a zippered pocket to hold all the little things - for example, an eraser, pencil sharpener, or tiny treasures. There's also a handy D-ring to clip keys, carabiners, charms or tags.
We built it with the same high-quality, durable, water-resistant waxed canvas we use in our bags, so this artist pencil roll is a reliable companion, built to withstand the demands of daily use and travel.
The long vegetable-tanned leather strap is adjustable, so you can pack the roll as full or empty as you like. Because of its compact size, the artist roll fits easily in your bag and takes up minimal space in your workspace.
Over time, the vegetable-tanned leather and waxed canvas will develop a rich patina, which will add to the roll's character. Compact yet spacious, this pencil roll is the perfect companion for artists always on the go.

Our waxed canvas is made in Scotland from sustainably sourced cotton and biodegradable waxes. Free from PFCs. Our suppliers are partners of the bluesign® system, ensuring responsible and sustainable textile production.
Leather Details:
Our vegetable-tanned leather is from Italian tanneries that are members of the Genuine Italian Vegetable Tanned Leather Consortium. The leather is tanned using natural materials and traditional methods, without the use of chromium.

WHICH PENCIL ROLL WILL BEST FIT YOUR NEEDS?
This is our largest artist pencil roll. Choose this one if you need lots of space for your tools and notebooks. This roll fits an A5 notebook or sketchbook on the inside, plus a smaller A6 notebook as well. Like the medium roll, this one also fits at least 13 pencils. It also has two large pockets on the outside for additional loose papers or small notebooks.
Choose our medium pencil roll if you need a little less space. This one is designed for artists on the go. Inside, it fits a smaller notebook A6, with tools like scissors, rulers, and similar tools. It holds at least 13 pencils. On the outside, it has two large pockets that will fit an A5 notebook or sketchbook.
If both of these sound too big for your needs, op for our smallest roll up pencil case which was designed primarily for writers. It comfortably fits an A5 notebook on the inside and has an additional pocket for smaller notebooks like A6. It has 7 pen compartments. These compartments are slightly larger than in other cases to comfortably fit thicker pens.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR WAXED CANVAS ARTIST ROLL:
For newer dirt, simply hose (or shower) the pencil roll with lukewarm water (water only, no soap). For older, dried-up dirt, use a soft bristle brush to brush away the dirt, then shower the bag.
Please do not machine wash, dry clean, or use detergents, bleach, or other harsh chemicals on your bag. This is damaging to the environment and terrible for your bag.
